Hello one and all, my name is Jacob Wilson. I am currently serving in the capacity of PRIDE's social chair, a position I hold to the highest standards I can. In essence, I am responsible for brainstorming and putting into action any sort of social events, get-togethers, informational gatherings, etc. that PRIDE deems would be good for us and for you guys.

As for myself, I am new to the Chicago area as having just moved here over the previous summer. I hail from Boston, MA, and as such, you would think I have that thick Boston accent, but, I hardly do. I'm very much into politics and law, and I hope one day to find a job with a legal defense group such as LAMBDA Legal or the ACLU, where I can fight for the constitutional rights of the downtrodden and discriminated.

Last but not least, a fun fact about myself is that I play the dijeridu. What is the dijeridu, you may ask? It is a wooden instrument about four feet long from the Aborigine tribes of Northern Australia, made out of a hollowed out Eucalyptus tree. Come into PRIDE sometime and you might just a get chance to see and hear it. You won't be disappointed.

Hi I'm Tom and I'm one of several Advisory Chairs for Pride. Currently I'm working with the other Advisory Chairs on a "manual" for Pride, which will help the organization run more smoothly. At the beginning of a new year, I have set a few goals for myself for 2007:

(1) to get at least 10 people marching for UIC this summer at the Pride parade (last summer we only had 3 and were unable to march), and

(2) to get the word out about the Peer Ears program. Please contact me if either of those is an interest of yours as well, we can make it happen together. I will be graduating this May with a BA in English (Creative Writing). I plan on going to grad school for Urban Planning and I want to focus on issues of environmental concern and sustainability. I also took a lot of Music and French classes as an Undergrad, so if you need any help with those maybe I can help (no promises!). I've only been involved with Pride for 2 years, but Pride is growing and every meeting is different with a different mix of people. I encourage everyone to come to a meeting and I strongly encourage you to suggest a program. That's how I got started, I just came up with something I wanted to do and hoped that people wanted to do it with me, and they did! Our organization is so overwhelmingly affirming and diverse, you can't go wrong with this great mix of people.
